2007 Street Stock Rules

At this time crate motors are only legal in Hobby and Late model

Changes are in RED

Anything not specified must be OEM and remain in stock location with no modifications please read all the rules before heading to the track so there are no suprises.

Bodies and Frames

1. 1970 or newer sedan eligible.
2. Minimum stock wheelbase 108” , frame cannot be cut or modified in any place.
3. Body must be set on original rubber body mounts.
4. Must be full metal sock body, neatly painted. Frame and body must be stock for year and type of car being run. Must be OEM parts only. May run after market nose piece and tail piece. Monte Carlo or early Camaros ONLY.
5. Floor pan and firewall must remain stock and complete.
6. Bumpers may be replaced by 2X2, 2X3, or round tube but must be extended no further than 5” from frame rails out board front bumper must be concealed by nose piece or stock.
7. Dash must remain stock appearing aluminum (for dashes only) .028 sheet metal.
8. All glass must be removed.
9. Full roll cage allowed. Roll cage perimeter bars must be 1 ¾ X 095 tubing. Four bars in driers door and X’ed in passenger side, door plates recommended.
10. May run 4” max height spoiler may have side panels no higher than spoiler
11. Must have drive shaft hoop no more than 10” behind transmission.
12. Mush have working three wheel brakes. No after market brake systems. Disk brakes OK on rear but No brake adjusters.
13. All holes in floor pan and fire wall must be covered to prevent fire from entering driver compartment. Floor pan may have two small drain holes at back.
14. Back of car must be covered from bottom of deck lid to top of bumper.
May run Sheet Metal Body, must be steel on sides no exceptions. Fenders, doors, and rear quarters must be steel. Old style nose piece only Must have full fire wall and floor pan.

Tires and Rims

1. Tires 10” tread maximum. Towel City recap RED DOT ONLY, RC4 or RC6 Hoosier, or MD56 American Racer. May run bead lock on right rear only.
2. 10” maximum wide wheel. No spacers allowed. 2” maximum offset.
3. No Grooving, cutting, snipping, or soaking permitted.

Suspension – All suspension components must remain stock and in stock location. May run racing springs and racing shocks. All parts must be OEM for make and year of car. No weight jacks of any kind, even if they are welded they you cannot run them.

Batteries – Battery may be relocated to firewall or inside driver compartment. Battery must in a type battery case fully covered and securely mounted.

Gas Tank

1. Must use approved fuel cell mounted in can with two 2” straps top and bottom. Must have tip over valve.
2. No glass type fuel filters.
3. Fuel line must be routed so they cannot be ripped loose from racing action. If run through interior of car, must be in conduit.
Transmission – Automatic transmissions only with full working converter. NO standard transmissions car must Idle in all gears while stopped, If it will not you have to repair this problem or we can only assume a direct drive is present. you may run 2 spd powerglide transmission with 100LB weight penalty

Rear Ends – Stock rear end for car being run only – no modifications. Locked rear end optional. May change rear end gear ratio.

Engines

1. Must be same as manufacturer’s engine in stock location. May be mounted on solid mounts.
2. No vortec engines, head, or intakes.
3. All engine components must be stock with no modifications. Flat top pistons only, no stroker or destroked engines chevy 350 ford-351 dodge -360 engines only max bore .060
4. Camshaft may be .450 lift at valve. Hydraulic can only measure .300 at cam. No 1.6 rockers or roller rockers. No roller cams.
5. Carburetor must be unaltered 4412. May run cast iron bowtie intake with 1 ¼” adapter plate.
6. Stock distributors only. Stock or stock appearing module only. No circuit board type modules.
7. Stock exhaust manifolds or under – slung headers only.
8. Cannot run crate motor 602-604 ect...

WEIGHT

All cars must weigh 3,200 pounds before and after the race with driver in the car.
3300 lbs with 2 spd powerglide transmission. All weight must be mounted with two 1/2” bolts and painted white with car number. No weight in drivers compartment. Drive shaft must be painted white with car number on it.

Safety

1. All cars must be equipped with an approved 5 – point quick release or aircraft type seatbelt and shoulder harness securely fastened to the frame or roll cage with minimum 3/8” grade 5 bolts.
2. Seatbelt and harness must be at least 3” material. Must have window net
3. Approved helmet with face shield or goggles required. Driver’s fire suit required.
4. Working fire extinguisher required. Must be mounted to roll cage with quick release bracket within driver’s reach. Cannot be taped or tie wrapped in place.

Aluminum bodies, weight jacks, motor set back, not having full fire wall, not having full floor pan, aluminum intake, standard transmissions, under 3200 lbs, not having back of car closed in, .500 lift camshaft, vortec heads, over the frame headers, frame modified, after market brakes, brake adjusters, or any other performance enhancing modifications will result in the Street Stock car running Hobby that night if found before the race or DQ after the race.
